Similar to a BOV on turbo setup, the bypass valve instead stays open when the ski is at idle allowing the boost generated by the EATON TVS Supercharger to vent to the atmosphere, and only closes when the throttle is applied. (whereas a turbo BOV is always closed and only opens briefly when the throttle is lifted to prevent damage to the butterfly.)
If you are losing peak boost, this potentially may be the problem. It will be venting the boost rather than allowing it to enter the throttlebody.
This is a genuine replacment part, and recommended to be replaced when you are chasing absolute maximum performance
